Being one of 40 Stylish British Designers at London Design Festival:
September brought very exciting things for me and my business … I actually got married (yes I am officially a Shakespeare now – blog post to follow soon!)
I also took part in an amazingly inspiring exhibition as part of London Design Festival called ‘Four Corners Of Craft‘ with organisers Etsy bringing together high-end design from all UK regions. In partnership with Crafts Council and Tent London, Etsy selected makers via an open call with the help of many national and regional arts organisations, they united over 40 of these makers in an exhibition to represent design from the four corners of our country, what tied it all together was the quality of the making.
It was brilliant that four items of my jewellery were selected to be part of the exhibition, x3 of my handwoven, hand dyed oversized, statement necklaces (Tisa, Purls, Kola) and also one of my lovely tactile Gomay wood bangles, all of which are available on my Etsy shop HERE! I felt very honoured to have had my jewellery sat amongst such creative and stylish talent in all mediums, skills and scales, with all products looked after, curated and displayed by the Etsy team themselves.
So refreshing to see contemporary craft looking cutting edge yet accessible and where better to do it in London’s East End at the Truman Brewery. Such a fresh colour palette used throughout which seemed to synchronise the various disciplines and one can only hope that they’ll be more of this calibre of exhibition to come for Saloukee Jewellery! So thank you to the Etsy team! x
