Copper + Nature
There’s not many sweeter things than the gift of life is there? Well that’s why I’ve added this lovely number to our ninth wedding anniversary gift ideas list.
DingaDing Terrariums have the most stunning array of designs to house succulents and airplants. What started as a passion for plants and little vessels for owner Jie, turned into crafting these unique products.
She says “I have a collection of air plants, succulents, marimo terrarium kits, hand-painted dinosaur planters and less ordinary planters.
The plants (succulents, air plants and marimo moss balls) that come in the kits need very little care, but provide a broad variety of long-lasting beautiful greenery to your living space.”
Large copper diamond glass terrarium with succulent priced at £58.50, MORE HERE.
This month will also see me making new work with copper to celebrate my 10 years in business. I have set myself the challenge to make a new piece of jewellery per month for the rest of the year. Each month will be themed by the materials of the anniversaries 1-10. Do follow me on Instagram to track my journey.
9th Wedding is Pottery, not copper!
Thanks for your comment Gio. Accordingly to research I did at the time, the traditional gift for the 9th anniversary in the UK, is indeed copper. I believe, in the US it is said to be pottery? Either way, as part of a year long project, I made jewellery from various materials linked with anniversaries and I used my own artistic licence to decide what was possible within my skill set. As a jeweller, it was more viable for me to turn my hand to working in copper, than it was to turn it to pottery. So it made my decision easy to use the UK tradition on this occasion.
