Craft Workshops In Shrewsbury -

Jewellery Making in Shropshire:

I’ve been lucky enough to have the opportunity to host a number of craft workshops in Shrewsbury over the last year. I’ve been teaching necklaces making to some really willing students. It’s been lovely to feel a little more integrated into the local community and get to know many talented creatives.

The workshops have taken place at the gorgeous scandi inspired and design led home-wares store Workshop. Owner Penny has a really eye for styling and the curation of beautiful products. I very rarely leave there without a purchase in hand! Situated in the historic centre of Shrewsbury, down a cobbled street of picturesque independent shops. Downstairs you’ll find the main store and upstairs we hold the workshop surrounded by lots of inspiring products. On the evening you’ll get 10% off any in store purchases, as well as a 10% off voucher for Saloukee online too.

The Details

My craft workshops in Shrewsbury take place every couple of months on a weekday evening and last up to 90 minutes. In this time, you get chance to make learn a weaving technique to make your cotton rope necklace. There’s also always bubbles and refreshments and chance to ask questions and chat.

It’s a relaxed affair and a perfect chance to come with friends for a crafty catch up. Or perhaps you’d prefer to come alone, giving yourself some me-time. Workshop numbers are limited to 8 people, so it’s an intimate and friendly atmosphere, where all abilities are welcome.

The best kind of sharing

I’ve found that’s there’s something quite unique when women get together. These craft nights in Shrewsbury that I have hosted have been a perfect example of this. There’s an ease of sharing, caring, championing and creating, it’s just some of what we do so well as women, even as strangers.

It’s strange too, as even after 10 years I still feel a little coy seeing people wear my jewellery. But I always leave my workshops feeling a little hop in my step. It’s so lovely to give people a new skill that they can go away and develop. To see attendees wearing their necklaces with pride at the end of the night is a real joy. Even better is that I don’t even need to blush myself, because I didn’t actually make the pieces!
